The Alagnak River is known in Alaska as being one of the best salmon and trout rivers in the state.  The Alagnak River actually flows from two major lakes, the Nonvianuk and Kukaklek lakes.  These two lakes and their tributaries are known for their Alaska trophy trout fishing.  Part of why these tributaries support a great population of Alaska trophy trout is due in part to the million plus sockeye that swim past our Alaska fly fishing lodge every day starting June 29th through about July 15.  These sockeye salmon of the Alagnak River spawn above lakes as part of their life cycle, and the tributaries...

Our Alaska fly fishing lodge will be turning twenty years old this year.  We have been on the Alagnak River in Bristol bay for a long time.  We originally started out taking only six guests a week, targeting Alaska salmon and trout on the fly all summer long.  We eventually moved up our capacity to take ten guests in ninety five.   Well, there have been a lot of changes over the years to the lodge, but we still only take ten guests a week and we have only added to the comfort level of our guests.  There is a reason we have an eighty to ninety percent return rate of guests at our Alaska fly fishing...

Our Alaska fly fishing lodge is considered in the industry to be a deluxe tent lodge.  No, we do not have solid walls on all our buildings.  We use weatherport tents at our Alaska fly fishing lodge, that are on elevated carpeted wood floors.  These tents are considered to be "tent cabins".   These tent cabins are what makes up a deluxe tent lodge. Our true Alagnak River fly fishing lodge, is almost full for the upcoming summer.  We only have spots left in the last few weeks of the summer.  These weeks, starting August fifth through the twelfth, and August twelfth through the nineteenth are the two primary silver salmon weeks.   With these weeks, we also experience the highest catch rates of the summer.  The reason is, we have the second run of the chum salmon, combined with the silver salmon run.  This means that the daily catch rates on the fly for salmon are as high as you can handle!  The screaming runs and power of the chum salmon,...
